The eye of King Lear

King Lear Statue - Chicago Il

The Eye of King Lear

I’ve developed this series of photographs around the King Lear statue that used to occupy Pioneer Court near the Tribune building in Chicago, IL. I’ve heard that the eyes are the window to the soul. I’ve also heard that there are over a dozen references to eyes in William Shakespeare’s King Lear. It is interesting to point out that King Lear was surrounded by people with many different agendas. It’s unfortunate that he was unable to see through the facade many of them put up.
